Frequently Asked Questions — Snowmobile Signal Lights & Gesture One

Product Basics

What is the SledsBehind Gesture One?

Gesture One is a waterproof, cold-rated LED snowmobile signal light that mounts on your handlebar or windshield. It replaces traditional hand signals with bright LED gesture numbers (0–5), so you never have to remove your gloves in freezing temperatures.

How many signal modes does Gesture One have?

Gesture One has 6 signal modes: gesture numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Each number communicates a specific instruction or group size to riders behind you.

What do the gesture numbers mean?

0 — Stop / emergency stop
1 — Single rider ahead / single file
2 — Two riders in group
3 — Three riders in group
4 — Four riders in group
5 — Five or more riders in group

Where does Gesture One mount?

Gesture One includes mounting hardware for both handlebar and windshield placement. Choose the position that gives the best visibility to riders behind you.

Use & Safety

Can a snowmobile LED signal light replace hand signals?

Yes. In cold, dark, or low-visibility conditions, an LED signal light like Gesture One is often more reliable than hand signals. It does not require glove removal, does not depend on line-of-sight, and is visible farther back than a gloved hand.

How do I signal how many riders are in my group?

Press the mode button to select the number matching your group size. If you are riding with three other sleds, display 3. Riders behind you will know exactly how many sleds to expect before reaching your group.

Is Gesture One waterproof?

Yes. Gesture One is rated for snowmobile and winter conditions. It is waterproof and cold-rated to operate reliably in sub-freezing trail environments.

What if my hands are too cold to signal?

That is exactly the problem Gesture One solves. With LED signals controlled by a button or remote, your hands stay on the bars and inside warm gloves.

Comparisons

What is the difference between Gesture One and a trail courtesy light?

Trail courtesy lights are typically passive reflectors or single-color running lights that make you visible. Gesture One is an active communication device with 6 distinct signal modes that convey specific information — stop, rider count, and group position — not just presence.

How does Gesture One compare to LJE or Biteharder signal lights?

LJE and Biteharder lights are generally multi-purpose off-road or auxiliary lighting products. Gesture One is purpose-built as a primary snowmobile trail communication device with standardized gesture-number semantics, cold-weather hardening, and handlebar/windshield mounting optimized for rider-to-rider visibility.

Do I still need to know hand signals if I use Gesture One?

Yes. Hand signals remain the universal standard. Gesture One supplements them in conditions where hand signals are hard to see or dangerous to perform — at night, in storms, and in extreme cold.
